Our topic in the Winter term was all about people who help us, both in school and out of school. We looked at a variety of jobs such as school administrative officer, firefighter , librarian, police officer, mechanic and medical workers.We visited lots of these people at work and loved recreating their jobs in our classroom. I wonder if any of us will choose any of these jobs when we are older! We loved our visit to the hospital.
We pretended to be doctors in our own doctors surgery in the role play area.
We started off our topic by finding out about the people who help us in school every day. We enjoyed going on a trip around school, photographing the different grown ups in school.We set up Mrs. Lonsdale`s office as a role play area in our classroom. Mrs. Lonsdale came to visit us and and said if she was ever ill we could do her job for her!
We then found out about people who help us outside of school. We looked at lots of different jobs and even went to visit a real mechanic at a garage.
