On Wednesday 3rd December, ex-Newcastle United & England footballer, Peter Beardsley came into school to take part in a special assembly. We all wore black and white for the day.
This was as part of our drive to improve pupil attendance. Every child who had 100% attendance for the month of November had their name entered into a prize draw. The prizes of 3 pairs of tickets for the match between Newcastle United & Spurs on 21st December were awarded to Andrew Guy, Amy Peterson & Megan Moyle (whose names were drawn out of the hat).
Peter also gave prizes of Junior Magpies goody bags to 5 children who were able to tell us why it is important to attend school every day.
He then spent some time answering some well thought out questions and signing autographs.
