We have had a very busy term in Reception and Nursery doing lots of exciting things. We loved our topic about Ourselves - we drew maps of our journeys to school, talked about who lives in our house, we made salt dough and box bodies, we labelled parts of the body, talked about what we can do now and what we could do as babies. We did lots of other jobs too - too numerous to mention ! Reception children have also been busy with their Read Write Inc programme and their writing is fabulous !
Our topic after half term was Traditional Tales which has really been great. There has been lots of role play opportunities and the 3 Bears came to stay. They came to live in Nursery first and then in Reception. We made porridge for them and we ate some too !
We also enjoyed World Book Day in March. We came to school in our fancy dress outfits and our big friends in Year 6 came to read stories to us. Climate Change week was super - we made recycled hats, remembered to put our fruit waste in the compost bin, went on a litter pick, made happy and sad worlds, planted trees in our garden and lots more !! Our grown ups also came in to help us make bird feeders - we are sure that the birds will love them.
At Easter time we made scrummy chocolate nests and lovely little chick Easter cards to take home. The Easter Bunny made a surprise visit and left us some chocolate eggs too !
